If you could make a difference in befriending an elderly person who is isolated; then we may have a role for you.

If you find it easy to make friends, enjoy and are good at encouraging and empowering others, then you could make a difference in our Volunteer Befriender role.  We are looking for people to befriend elderly people in their area, by phone and through regular visits throughout the year.

You will be someone who can put others at ease, and who can work with individuals to help them develop new friends and work closely with them to help them to become part of the community.  You will ideally need access to a car and have a driving licence and a phone. (Our volunteers need to be over 18 years old too).

No experience of working in the Licensed Trade necessary as full training will be given.

What do we offer in return?

Our volunteers are important to us and we are committed to making your experience with us a rewarding one.

This is what's on offer for this role:

- full training
- networking days
- a mentor you can call for support
- and all out of pocket expenses will be covered

What Next?

Once you've called the office we will send you an application form, and providing you meet our criteria we will then invite you in for an informal interview to talk through the role in more detail and answer any questions you may have.

Please call us on 01344 898522 or contact us  and we will call you back.
