Living with disability & illness?

How we can help

We can help individuals to pay for a range of unaffordable, but urgently needed items that make a real difference to their quality of life.

It is sometimes difficult and can often take a long time to get assistance from the state for items such as electric wheelchairs, shower adaptations, convalescent breaks, counselling, special furniture for those less able etc. Working with other charities, we may be able to provide funding for such items.

We may be able to arrange a visit from one of our trained volunteer visitors.  They are based around the country and visit people with the aim of seeing how the charity can help, and if necessary can help you to complete the application form.

For financial assistance and grants, the decision to help can be immediate.  For less urgent cases it may take a few weeks to arrange.

Marc had an accident while in the pub. He injured his back and could no longer work.

Convalescence

If you are recovering from an operation or suffer from chronic serious illness, we may be able to help with a convalescent break.  If you are a hard-working carer in need of a break to stay healthy, we may be able to help with respite care.
