About Support & Care
What we do
Every year the charity spends around £1 million helping people to get back on their feet again. We help all ages, from the children of working or retired people, to young adults and those who have long retired from the trade. In all our years of operation, we have listened to a vast range of problems and have done our utmost to help people get on with their lives.
All our help is free - we are a charity.
To qualify for help, you just need to have worked in the licensed drinks trade for at least five years in your lifetime.

We can offer help in the following areas:
If you are struggling to pay essential bills, such as food and heating, we may be able to help you with a regular weekly payment to get by.
We can provide guidelines and we have access to other helplines and resources.
First of all we can provide a caring and confidential ear at the end of the phone if you are experiencing business problems.

For those who find themselves homeless, we can assist with guidance on where to find accommodation, we may even help you with your deposit if you are in financial difficulty.
For those over 55 looking for retirement accommodation, we can arrange housing through Anchor Housing properties.
Disability & Illness
It sometimes is difficult and takes a long time to get assistance from the state, such as electric wheelchairs, shower adaptations etc. Working with other charities we may be able to provide funding for such items.
If you are recovering from an operation or suffer from chronic serious illness, we may be able to help with a convalescent break. If you are a hard-working carer in need of a break to stay healthy, we may be able to help with respite care.
Essential Household Items
If you are in financial difficulty and need a cooker, fridge, washing machine but don't have the means to buy these essential items for you and your family, we may be able to help.
Bursaries are available at our independent day and boarding school in Ascot. These are means tested and you will need to have worked in the trade for three years.
