BII BIKE RIDERS RAISE FUNDS FOR LICENSED TRADE CHARITY SCHOOL
July 2010
A group of nine motorbike riders organised by the BII raced up the motorway on Friday 23rd July to raise funds for LVS Hassocks, a school for pupils with Aspergers’ and Autism, run by the Licensed Trade Charity.
The fun idea was created by Neil Robertson, and started on Thursday evening, and involved a 60 mile ride from LVS Hassocks school in Sayers Common, up to the charity’s other school in Ascot. Both schools support children of parents who work in the licensed drinks trade.
The school, formerly a nun’s priory, has been converted to a school and needs further adaptation. The money raised through the fundraiser will be used to help develop a bespoke training kitchen, where pupils can train for potential employment in the hospitality industry.
Neil Robertson, Chief Executive of the BII said “we were very pleased with the generosity shown for such a great school and it was a fantastic way to raise the money”.
Tilda Lawrence, a student at the school said “"I liked it alot. I really like the motorbikes, although one of them was very loud!"
